Playback singing has been an inseparable part of Indian culture since the advent of talkies in motion pictures. Playback singers have turned many unknown actors into overnight stars and have become the voice they are forever identified with.
What does it take to become a playback singer? Is it the voice? Or the expression? Or the skill with Sur and Laya? Or creativity? It is all this and much more.
This course will help the student decode what it takes to be a good playback singer and get an understanding and attain knowledge of the nuances. This is a course that will be personalised for each student - it will help the student identify their strengths and weaknesses as a singer and how to leverage those strengths or overcome those weaknesses. Students will also learn how to understand and analyse the vision of the music director and to bring their own creativity to any song.
At the end of this course, if selected, students will also record a song (this would be an existing song with new lyrics), arranged and produced by IIMPA. The single will carry the student’s name in credits and will be available for the IIMPA to use in any way that will popularize the song without any financial obligations to the student or singer.
Learning Music can make a marked difference to the development of a child’s social, cognitive and communicative skills. Exposing children to music lessons early also helps discover their innate talent and help them become better singers in the future. IIMPA has introduced various courses specially tailored for children of different age groups. The courses are filled with fun activities and explain concepts in a manner that is easy to understand for the child. For parents, it is a great opportunity to bond with your child and enjoy the power of music. Though the courses are easy enough for older children to pursue on their own, the amount of joy you will get from participating with your child is immense.
Music is a magical gift we must nourish and cultivate ourselves and in our children; a gift which keeps on giving throughout our lifetime. Our advanced elective course (Voice Gym), provides a unique opportunity for students anywhere in the world to learn from the convenience of their home. These courses will help you to develop your performance skills and become a better musician.
Mission and the journey of joy of music continues. These courses are designed to prepare contestants who are skilled and who desire to take part in various vocal competitions. They focus on improving voice quality, pitching, singing complicated swara patterns, stage presence and improvisation
